Biography

I am primarily a Java developer with strong knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS, and have previously had experience with .Net, ColdFusion and PHP. I have good experience across the full stack of web development.

My role at GOSS Interactive currently involves developing websites for a variety of both public and private sector clients, including/previously including Brittany Ferries, Caledonian MacBrayne, Hillingdon Council, Staffordshire Police, Poole MyLifeMyCare, and Renfrewshire council. This includes a mix of core product and bespoke client development, with a focus on creating and maintaining frameworks, reusable features, and components.

From 2005 at the University of Plymouth, I studied Digital Art and Technology and graduated with 1st class BSc (hons), being included on the Dean's List for high achievement. During this time I offered freelance web design and development, and the third of four year's study was spent on an industrial placement working with Neovirtua.com.

I have experience with design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and still use these skills when implementing web applications. I have also previously created several interactive digital art projects in Flash and Object-orientated ActionScript during my time at university, and my final year project was written in DirectX and C++ with self-built electronic interfaces.

I enjoy digital photography, and have a collection spanning from 2003, examples of some can be found in links to social media sites below, and in the featured images section of this page. I have also a background in traditional art, particularly in pencil.
